Half-Time Report: Middlesbrough being held by Birmingham

Middlesbrough dominate the opening 45 minutes against Birmingham City but head into the break on level terms.

Middlesbrough have gone into half time at 0-0 with Birmingham City, despite dominating the first 45 minutes at the Riverside Stadium.

Middlesbrough started like a team who had won six of their last seven Championship matches, with Adam Clayton only being denied by a save from Tomasz Kuszczak in the second minute.

Moments later, Stewart Downing headed wide before Grant Leadbitter struck the inside of the post with a powerful effort.

On 17 minutes, another opportunity was created by the home side, but Kuszczak was equal to a decent effort from Boro top goalscorer Christian Stuani.

Midway through the half, Albert Adomah curled a shot just wide of the post as Boro's dominance continued, but Birmingham did make some headway towards the end of the half, with Stephen Gleeson getting an effort on target.

David Nugent failed to make the most of a half-chance as the half drew to a close, and Birmingham will be relieved to remain on level terms as they look to end their recent winless run.
