Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Lille vs. Lyon

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Lille vs. Lyon.

St Etienne vs. Montpellier (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Saint-Etienne will be aiming to put an end to their torrid spell of form in Ligue 1 when they welcome Montpellier HSC to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard for Sunday's fixture.

Similarly, the visitors head into this game on a four-game winless run having not triumphed since the fourth gameweek of the season.

We say: Saint-Etienne 1-1 Montpellier HSC

A woeful run of form coupled with a depleted squad is a recipe for disaster for any team, but given the respective troubles of these two sides, both Saint-Etienne and Montpellier will look to take advantage this weekend. The visitors in particular will be forced into a significant reshuffle, and we think Saint-Etienne will bring their losing streak to an end here, although Montpellier should do enough to nick a point.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Dijon vs. Lorient (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Dijon host Lorient on Sunday as the 2020-21 Ligue 1 season continues, with both sides looking to bounce back from defeat in their last league matches.

The hosts remain bottom after a 4-0 defeat at Paris Saint-Germain, with Lorient narrowly outside the relegation zone after a 1-0 loss at home to Marseille.

We say: Dijon 1-2 Lorient

With Lorient scoring more goals than every side except Montpellier in the bottom half so far this campaign, and only Brest conceding as many as Dijon, we can see the visitors outscoring the home side here to put considerable distance between the two sides in terms of points on the board.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Angers vs. Nice (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Angers host Nice on Sunday as the 2020-21 Ligue 1 campaign continues, with the two sides surprisingly only separated by a solitary point.

The hosts have taken seven points from their last three matches to move up to eighth in the table, with Patrick Vieira's Nice doing likewise to occupy fifth position.

We say: Angers 1-1 Nice

With both sides in impressive form of late, neither manager would be too disappointed with a share of the points here to keep their unbeaten runs going.

Angers will be fresher with Nice having Europa League football to contend with in midweek, which could give them the edge against a Nice side who are generally a stronger defensive unit.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Nimes vs. Metz (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Metz will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run to six games when they travel to Nimes on Sunday afternoon.

Les Grenats beat Saint-Etienne 2-0 last weekend to move into the top half of Ligue 1 for the first time this season.

We say: Nimes 0-1 Metz

Given that Nimes' attack is rather blunt and Metz top scorer Ibrahima Niane is out for the season after rupturing his ACL, it is hard to see many goals in this game. Nonetheless, Metz are growing in confidence and might just sneak a victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Reims vs. Strasbourg (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Reims head coach David Guion pictured in January 2019© Reuters

Reims and Strasbourg will both be aiming to move out of the Ligue 1 relegation zone when they meet on Sunday.

Both sides come into the game having won in style away from home last weekend – Reims thrashing Montpellier 4-0 and Strasbourg beating Brest 3-0.

We say: Reims 2-2 Strasbourg

Both teams will fancy their chances of getting a second win in a row and we could see plenty of goals in a tight, well-matched affair that may ultimately end up level.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Monaco vs. Bordeaux (Sunday, 4.00pm)

Monaco will be looking to recover from their thrashing at the hands of Lyon when they welcome Bordeaux to the Stade Louis II for Sunday's Ligue 1 encounter.

In contrast, the visitors are searching for their second win on the bounce having overcome Nimes 2-0 in gameweek eight.

We say: Monaco 1-2 Bordeaux

This should be an interesting battle between the talented attacking contingent of Monaco and the unwavering defensive unit of Bordeaux. Les Girondins may not be able to build on their impressive clean-sheet record at the Stade Louis II, but Bordeaux are historically strong in this fixture and we are backing Gasset's men to scrape a narrow victory on Sunday.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Lille vs. Lyon (Sunday, 8.00pm)

The pick of the fixtures in gameweek nine of the 2020-21 Ligue 1 season sees high-flying Lille play host to a Lyon side who are beginning to get into their stride.

Les Dogues are looking to maintain their unbeaten start to proceedings, while Lyon are aiming to build on their 4-1 thrashing of Monaco last weekend.

We say: Lille 2-3 Lyon

Lille have proved to be somewhat of a bogey team for Lyon in recent years, but with the youthful talent that the visitors have on show, Les Gones will be confident of breaking the duck this weekend. Fans should be in for a treat with this one and we could be seeing goals aplenty at the Stade Pierre Mauroy, but Lille may be starting to feel the effects of the unforgiving schedule and we expect Lyon to condemn the hosts to their first defeat of the campaign.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
