Half-Time Report: Harry Bunn cancels out early Sam Byram goal

Harry Bunn equalises for Huddersfield Town before half time after Sam Byram had given Leeds United an early lead.

Huddersfield Town recovered from conceding an early goal to head into half time level at 1-1 with Yorkshire rivals Leeds United in the Championship this afternoon.

It did not take Leeds long to open the scoring, as Luke Murphy found an early hole in the Huddersfield defence to set up Sam Byram for a simple header past Joe Murphy.

Things got worse for Huddersfield inside the first 10 minutes as striker Nakhi Wells was forced off with an injury, while Tommy Smith came close to doubling the lead for the visitors with a long-range effort that drifted just wide.

David Edgar tried to set up an equaliser for the home side, but he fired wide after carving out some space on the edge of the box, while James Vaughan saw his volley deflected wide.

Huddersfield were back on level terms from the resulting corner though, as Wells's replacement, Harry Bunn, was left unmarked at the far post, leaving him to head in from Jacob Butterfield's delivery.

Sean Scannell could have put the hosts ahead shortly before the interval, but Marco Silvestri watched the ball all the way to claim it, while another shot from the striker was just wide moments before the half-time whistle.
