Wednesday's Champions League predictions including Borussia Dortmund vs. Chelsea

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Champions League fixtures, including Borussia Dortmund vs. Chelsea.

Brugge vs. Benfica (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

Club Brugge welcome Benfica to the Jan Breydel Stadium for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday.

While Scott Parker's side have failed to win each of their last seven home games across all competitions, Roger Schmidt's men are seeking to avoid back-to-back away matches without a win for the first time since December.

We say: Club Brugge 1-2 Benfica

Club Brugge have relished their underdog status throughout this season's Champions League and another resilient display is required if they wish to come out on top against a Benfica outfit who also enjoyed an impressive group-stage campaign.

A closely-fought first-leg contest is to be expected in Belgium, but we believe the Portuguese visitors will do just enough to claim a slender victory.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Dortmund vs. Chelsea (Wednesday, 8.00pm)

The first-ever meeting between Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea takes place at Westfalenstadion on Wednesday night, as the two teams lock horns in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.

BVB progressed to the knockout rounds after finishing second in Group G behind Manchester City, while the Blues navigated their way past AC Milan, Red Bull Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb to secure top spot in Group E.

We say: Borussia Dortmund 2-1 Chelsea

Chelsea have been far from their best for some time now and Potter will need his players to finally click if they are to come away from Germany with a positive result against a high-flying Dortmund outfit.

BVB may be without the services of Moukoko, but they still have enough quality in the final third to cause Chelsea problems and we are predicting the hosts to prevail in the first leg by the odd goal in three.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
