Brest crush 10-man Bastia

Brest move four points clear of the Ligue 1 relegation zone with an emphatic home win over 10-man Bastia.

Brest have moved four points clear of the Ligue 1 relegation zone with an emphatic home win over 10-man Bastia.

Larsen Toure opened the scoring on the stroke of half time, heading home from close range following Kamel Chafni's whipped cross.

Bastia defender François Marque was then shown a straight red card for a reckless tackle on Eden Ben Basat six minutes into the second period.

It took the hosts 10 minutes to make their numerical advantage count. Ben Basat was brought down by Matthieu Sans inside the penalty area and the Israel international dusted himself down to convert the spot kick himself.

Toure completed the scoring 23 minutes from time with a power effort from 10 yards that arrowed into the top-right corner.
