Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo says that January arrival Leonardo Campana has impressed him during his time training with the first-team squad.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has hinted that Leonardo Campana could soon be provided with an opportunity in the first-team squad.

While Campana was initially signed to begin life at Molineux in the Under-23s, Wolves' failure to bring in experienced backup for Raul Jimenez has led to the youngster training with the first-team squad.

Ahead of Wolves' Premier League meeting with Leicester City on Friday night, Nuno suggests that the 19-year-old may be in contention for a place on the substitutes' bench.

Nuno is quoted by Wolvesbite.com as saying: "He's been training with us. He's finished his participation with the national team and I think he's adapting from the first day I saw him.

"It's about progressing and improving and transforming into a good option for us. He's working well. He's a good player. Hopefully you can see for yourself but I think he's a good option.

"But he's a good backup to have and a player we want to improve and to make him better. This is our philosophy – always trying to bring players that we believe have space for improvement."

Despite his age, Campana has already made four appearances for his country at senior level.
