West Ham United manager David Moyes is reportedly set to sign a new two-and-a-half year contract with the club.

West Ham United manager David Moyes is reportedly set to sign a new two-and-a-half year contract with the club.

Speculation over the 60-year-old's future at the London Stadium has been rife for some time, as his current deal is due to expire at the end of the season.

Moyes celebrated four years in charge of West Ham in style as he successfully steered the Hammers to a 2-0 victory at Arsenal on Thursday – his first-ever managerial triumph at the Emirates Stadium at the 23rd attempt.

Commenting on his future after the win over Arsenal, Moyes told Amazon Prime: "We're getting ready to talk, I don't think any of us are jumping to get it too quickly. I don't see any problems."

Speaking at a press conference on Friday ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion, the Scotsman added: "I'm really happy in the environment I work in here. I enjoy working for the people around the club, all the people here are really supportive and help me.

"I've got a great team of players, we've built it over the four years, and we've come from quite a low level to a decent point at the moment and if we can keep that going that will be great.

"I'm sure the contract will be sorted in due course. We'll find how things go."

According to Sky Sports News, Moyes is expected to extend his stay at West Ham by signing a new contract that will run until the summer of 2026, although the deal is yet to be finalised.

Moyes memorably steered the Hammers to Europa Conference League glory last season, beating Fiorentina 2-1 in the final in June to clinch their first European trophy for 58 years.

The Glasgow-born boss also led the club to the Europa League semi finals and back-to-back top-seven finishes in the Premier League in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 campaigns.

Moyes, the second-oldest manager in the Premier League behind 76-year-old Roy Hodgson, came close to being sacked on several occasions last season following a string of poor results on the domestic front, with fans questioning his style of football.

However, West Ham have since built on their Europa Conference League glory as they have already qualified for the last 16 of the Europa League this term after topping their group with five wins from six games.

The Hammers have also impressed in the Premier League and currently sit sixth in the table at the halfway stage with 33 points – the club's best-ever points return at this stage of the season.

Moyes's men have accumulated 18 more points than they did at this stage of last season, and they head into Sunday's clash at home to Brighton sitting just four points behind reigning champions Manchester City in fourth place.

Across his two spells as West Ham manager, Moyes has taken charge of 238 games in total across all competitions, winning 107, drawing 46 and losing 84.
