Manchester United 'make Jamie Vardy, Javier Hernandez inquires'

A report claims that Manchester United are looking into the prospect of signing either Jamie Vardy from Leicester City or former player Javier Hernandez from West Ham.

Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Leicester City and West Ham United over possible moves for strikers Jamie Vardy and Javier Hernandez.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho appears keen to strengthen his attacking department and is looking around the Premier League for possible back-up options.

The Telegraph suggests that initial inquiries have already been made for Vardy and Hernandez, while Alexis Sanchez remains on their radar despite the Chilean favouring an end-of-season switch to Manchester City.

Hernandez, who was on United's books between 2010 and 2015, is understood to be available to purchase after struggling to find the net regularly for West Ham United following his £16m summer move.

Leicester ace Vardy, meanwhile, is a more expensive option at £35m, but the Foxes are less willing to offload one of their key players midway through the campaign.

Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are United's current recognised striking options, while the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford can also play through the middle.
