Defender Matthijs de Ligt - a reported target for Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester United - says that he could still remain at Ajax for at least another year.

Defender Matthijs de Ligt has suggested that he could spend another season at Ajax.

De Ligt has established himself as one of the top young players in world football, and that has resulted in frequent speculation regarding the 19-year-old's future.

Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been linked with the centre-back, but the Netherlands international is refusing to rule out another year with the Dutch giants.

De Ligt told NOS: "While I'm under contract, the possibility is there. Never say never. I do not have any dream team beyond Ajax, my dream since childhood was to play here, I got it and I'm happy with that.

"It's not something new, it's been like this throughout the season and I'm not going to be fooled by that, I do not worry."

De Ligt still has two years remaining on his deal with the Eredivisie champions.
