Manchester United planning to build 'mini Old Trafford'

Manchester United are reportedly planning to build a new mini-stadium next to Old Trafford for its Under-21s side.

Manchester United are reportedly planning to build a "mini-stadium" next to Old Trafford as a new home for its Under-21s squad.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the new stadium would have a capacity of between 5,000 and 10,000 and also host some Academy games and FA Youth Cup fixtures.

The newspaper claims that the move is "part of a deep root and branch review of the Academy and reserve set up at the club".

The proposed new stadium would be built on land around Old Trafford that is owned by the club and currently used for car parking.

United's Under-21s side have no permanent home and currently play at Leigh Sports Village on the outskirts of Greater Manchester.
