Sam Allardyce: Manuel Pellegrini deserves "huge" credit

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce believes that Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini deserves "huge" credit for the club's results this season.

Sam Allardyce has said that Manuel Pellegrini deserves "huge" credit for Manchester City's accomplishments during his first season in charge of the side.

The team have already won the Capital One Cup, and will be crowned Premier League champions if they avoid defeat to West Ham United on Sunday.

The Hammers manager told reporters: "Huge, I think. It's his first season and I think that anybody arriving for their first season at a football club and to achieve what he's achieved if he does win the Premier League and the Capital One Cup, means that they've done the double and there's not a lot more you can ask.

"There's money spent at every club, but everyone knows that this is the hardest league in the world to win and it's been shown this year more than ever before."

Man City are currently two points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table.
