The agent of Feyenoord centre-back David Hancko reveals that both Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in a deal for the Slovakia international.

The agent of Feyenoord centre-back David Hancko has revealed that both Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in a deal for his client.

The 26-year-old plied his trade with Fiorentina and Sparta Prague before transferring to Feyenoord in the summer of 2022, and he won the Eredivisie title in his first season at the club.

Standing at 6ft 2in tall, Hancko has proven to be a consistent goal threat from set-pieces for Feyenoord, scoring five times and providing seven assists in 70 games for the Dutch champions.

Hancko has one goal and two assists under his belt from 25 matches in the current campaign, netting against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and playing every minute of Feyenoord's Eredivisie campaign so far.

The Slovakia international has earned 35 caps for his country - primarily playing as a left-back - and he came up with two goals and three assists during their successful Euro 2024 qualifying campaign.

Just last month, Feyenoord agreed a contract extension with Hancko until the end of the 2027-28 season, but the 26-year-old's exploits at both ends of the pitch have inevitably attracted glances from elsewhere.

Journalist Nicolo Schira recently reported that both Liverpool and PSG are battling for the Slovakian's signature, and speaking to TNCZ, Hancko's representative Branislav Jasurek has confirmed that the European heavyweights are among the clubs to have made contact over a move.

"As an agency, we are in contact not only with these two clubs, but also with others who are looking into David's situation," said Jasurek, who added that a transfer was far more likely to materialise in the summer.

"I estimate that 80-90% David will stay in Rotterdam, because Feyenoord is fighting for the Champions League and the people at Feyenoord know that David Hancko will be sold even in the summer and maybe better than now.

"It would have to be one of the big clubs. He will certainly not go from Feyenoord Rotterdam, which is going to play in the Champions League, to a club that will play in the second half of the Premier League."

However, Jasurek has not ruled out the possibility of Hancko staying at Feyenoord and believes that the centre-back would be content to remain in the Eredivisie a little while longer.

"We believe that he will choose the best option from a sporting perspective, similar to his transfer from Sparta Prague to Feyenoord [in 2022]. He chose that step over other, more financially attractive offers.

"If he does transfer, that would be great because it means he will go to a bigger club. But even if he doesn't transfer, I think David will be happy to stay in Rotterdam."

Liverpool have lost Joel Matip to an ACL injury for the remainder of the season, while Joe Gomez is covering at full-back due to injuries to Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andrew Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.

Conor Bradley has impressed on the right-hand side in Alexander-Arnold's absence, but Hancko would represent an additional reinforcement in the central and left-back positions.
