Aymeric Laporte believes Manchester City are "superior in all areas" heading into the Premier League title race with Liverpool.

Aymeric Laporte believes Manchester City are "superior in all areas" heading into the Premier League title race with Liverpool.

The Citizens, who are vying to win their fourth top-flight crown in five seasons, currently sit at the top of the table, one point ahead of the Reds in second place with nine games remaining, including a showdown between the two heavyweights at the Etihad Stadium on April 10.

With City dropping five points in their last four league games, Pep Guardiola's men have started to look over their shoulders at Jurgen Klopp's side, who are currently enjoying a nine-game winning streak.

Nevertheless, Laporte has revealed that he is 'not afraid' of their title rivals and has suggested that Liverpool may be jealous of Man City's unique style of play.

"City can't be afraid of anyone," the Spain international told The Guardian.

"Something like this happened a few years ago: [Liverpool] were a point behind in the same week, and in the end we won the league. We have this fight now and that's good for the fans, and neutrals.

"The football we play, no one else plays in the world. We're an example of how to play nice football, to be superior in all areas.

"I think they [Liverpool] would like even part of our game. As for us having something of them: taking chances and benefiting from opponents' errors a little more, because often we have the opportunity and don't take it.

"We let the other team off. But there's nothing to be envious about."

Man City will also play Liverpool in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium on April 16, and the two teams could potentially lock horns in the Champions League final.

Laporte has also taunted crosstown rivals Manchester United, claiming that Man City's success will have 'annoyed some people' as the Red Devils 'haven't won anything'.
