Millwall scraped a 1-0 win against a spirited Leicester City side who were reduced to 10 men in the third minute this evening.

Captain Wes Morgan was given his marching orders for bringing down Millwall's Andy Keogh when he was the last man.

Kaspar Schmeichel made a string of fine saves to keep Leicester level, but Millwall finally found the breakthrough in the 86th minute when Alan Dunne calmly slotted home the winner.

Was the result fair?

If any team deserved to win, it was Millwall. They had the better of the first half and perhaps slightly edged the second too. However, a draw probably would have been the fairest result given Leicester's admirable performance with just 10 men for the vast majority of the match. They refused to park the bus and continued to play attacking football, so were unlucky to come away with nothing.

Leicester's performance

All things considered, very good. The Foxes have been short of luck lately - a big factor in their poor form - and it was the same story today. They played some good football after the red card and, had someone watched from the fourth minute onwards, they wouldn't have had many clues that Leicester were a man down. They hung on a bit in the first half but looked the most likely to score just before Millwall's goal in the second.

Millwall's performance

It can be tough playing against 10 men, and Leicester certainly didn't make it easy for them, but Millwall did exactly what they needed to do to come away with all three points. They played some good stuff in the first half and were only prevented from taking a lead into half time by some fine Kaspar Schmeichel saves. They were also on top at times in the second half and, despite Leicester matching them almost every step of the way, still managed to get the crucial goal late on.

Sports Mole's man of the match

Kaspar Schmeichel: The Leicester keeper was the main reason that this match stayed 0-0 for so long. He made some brilliant saves in the first half, including one from a free kick immediately after the red card. He denied Rob Hulse a number of times and could do nothing about the goal. He didn't deserve to be beaten today and is unlucky to find himself on the losing side.

Biggest gaffe

This one has to go to Wes Morgan for his early red. You can sympathise with the Leicester skipper as he was doing his best to try to stop Andy Keogh from being through on goal and, crucially, he stumbled at the last moment, but his challenge was still a little clumsy in that position that early on in a game. As captain, he maybe should've tried to force Keogh out wide and away from danger to ensure that he stayed on the pitch.

Referee performance

Stuart Attwell had a very good match in the middle tonight. The big decision was obviously the red card and he got it spot on. Morgan was the last man and brought Keogh down, so the ref had no choice, despite it being so early in the game. The match also threatened to get quite heated at times and Attwell calmed the situation down well. His assistant also deserves a mention for correctly disallowing Hulse's goal for offside.

Leicester: Leicester will continue their search for a win on Monday when they face Barnsley away.

Millwall: Millwall's Easter regime will also resume on Monday as they host struggling Ipswich Town at The Den.
