Everton reportedly target Stoke City centre-back Harry Souttar as a long-term replacement for Colombian defender Yerry Mina.

Everton have reportedly planned a move for Stoke City centre-back Harry Souttar.

With the future of Colombian defender Yerry Mina said to be coming into question, the Toffees have been tasked with finding a long-term replacement and have reportedly identified Souttar as a prime target.

According to The Sun, Everton assistant manager Duncan Ferguson watched the Australian international in action for Stoke earlier in October, and the Merseyside outfit have since done another check on the 23-year-old.

The Toffees will not be alone in their pursuit though, with Brighton & Hove Albion also reportedly keen on securing the Stoke man, although the Seagulls are said to be put off by Michael O'Neill's asking price.

After spending last season on loan at Fleetwood Town, Souttar has featured in 12 Championship games for the Potters this term, and he has earned nine caps for the Australian national team, scoring six goals from defence.
