Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel wants his club to make at least one new signing before the end of the January transfer window.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is reportedly desperate for his club to make at least one new signing in the final stages of the January transfer window.

The Blues have been hit with defensive issues in recent weeks, with Reece James, Ben Chilwell, Andreas Christensen and Trevor Chalobah all currently unavailable for selection.

The capital giants have been linked with a number of full-backs but have thus far not managed to boost their squad with any new additions in the winter window.

Chelsea have been unable to maintain a title challenge in the Premier League, with the club now 12 points behind league leaders Manchester City, having won just one of their last seven in England's top flight.

According to the Evening Standard, Tuchel wants at least one new signing to be made before the winter market closes for business.

The report claims that a left-sided wing-back remains a priority for the club's head coach, while Ousmane Dembele is a target amid his war of words with Barcelona.

Chelsea will be bidding to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they welcome Antonio Conte's Tottenham Hotspur to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
