Steve Cotterill happy with Bristol City clean sheet

Steve Cotterill lauds his side's defensive display after Bristol City keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory over Oldham Athletic to consolidate top spot in League One.

Bristol City manager Steve Cotterill praised his side's defence after they picked up a clean sheet at home to Oldham Athletic.

Kieran Agard's second-half strike was enough to give the Robins victory in a closely-fought game at Ashton Gate.

However, the City boss believes his side could have added to their solitary goal.

Cotterill told reporters: "In the first 20 minutes we really put them under pressure. We could have scored three. That's the best we've been for about a month now.

"I'm sure they'll talk about the last 20 minutes when they had possession but we let them as we had our goal.

"That'll keep those people talking about keeping clean sheets quiet this weekend. The way the players managed the game today was magnificent."

City now lead League One by five points from Preston North End, who were beaten 3-0 by Rochdale.
