Scottish League One roundup: Ayr United the new league leaders

Ayr United and Greenock Morton leapfrog Dunfermline in Scottish League One.

Ayr United became the new leaders of Scottish League One after twice coming from behind to defeat Brechin City at Glebe Park.

All of the goals were scored in the second half, with Alan Trouten and Jamie Masson on target for the hosts, and Scott McLaughlin and Craig Beattie bagging braces for the visitors.

Greenock Morton pulled off an impressive 2-1 win over Dunfermline Athletic to knock them off the top of the table and leapfrog them into second, Declan McManus and Connor Pepper finding the net for them, with Ross Millen's consolation strike sandwiched in between.

Bottom club Airdrieonians are still without a win, but they managed a point in a six-goal thriller with Stranraer this afternoon, while Stenhousemuir above them crashed to a 1-0 defeat at Peterhead.

Meanwhile, Stirling Albion and Forfar Athletic played out a 2-2 draw.

Results in full: Airdrieonians 3-3 Stranraer, Brechin 2-4 Ayr United, Greenock Morton 2-1 Dunfermline, Peterhead 1-0 Stenhousemuir, Stirling 2-2 Forfar
