Scottish League One roundup: Ayr United lose ground at the top

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's Scottish League One action as Dunfermline Athletic and Forfar Athletic secure wins to move within three points of leaders Ayr United.

Ayr United lost ground at the top of Scottish League One after being held to a 1-1 draw away to Stenhousemuir on Saturday afternoon.

Martin Grehan cancelled out Ryan Donnelly's early goal for the visitors to allow Dunfermline Athletic and Forfar Athletic to move within three points of the league leaders.

Dunfermline claimed a 2-1 win at Stranraer with goals from Gozie Ugwu and Michael Moffat, in a match where both sides finished with 10 men, while Forfar were 3-2 winners over Greenock Morton.

Airdrieonians and Stirling Albion played out a goalless stalemate at Excelsior Stadium, and Peterhead needed a late goal from Jordon Brown to rescue a point in their 1-1 draw at Brechin City.
