Atletico Madrid to move for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira?

Out-of-favour midfielder Lucas Torreira may reportedly be offered a route out of Arsenal by La Liga side Atletico Madrid.

Atletico Madrid are reportedly well positioned to sign midfielder Lucas Torreira from Arsenal this summer.

Los Rojiblancos missed out on the Uruguay international two years ago when he instead elected to join the Gunners in a £26m move from Sampdoria.

Torreira was a big hit at the Emirates Stadium in his first season at the club but has fallen out of favour this term, starting only two games post-lockdown.

La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that the 24-year-old may now be on his way out of Arsenal, with Atleti ahead of Fiorentina in the queue to sign him.

Speaking earlier this week, Torreira hinted that he would be willing to leave the North London outfit if it means securing more regular minutes elsewhere.
