Arsenal are reportedly open to allowing as many as 11 players to leave the Emirates Stadium the summer transfer window.

Arsenal are reportedly prepared to sell as many as 11 players during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have enjoyed an excellent 2022-23, pushing Manchester City for the Premier League title before a 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday effectively ended any hopes of a first top-flight crown for two decades.

However, with a return to the Champions League having been secured, Mikel Arteta is keen to significantly strengthen his senior ranks in a bid to contend on all fronts.

Arsenal will allegedly bid to try to sign each of West Ham United's Declan Rice and Brighton's Moises Caicedo to boost their quality in the middle of the pitch.

For that to be achievable, departures will have to materialise, and it was reported on Tuesday evening that Granit Xhaka is likely to join Bayer Leverkusen.

According to The Times, the Switzerland international could be one of 11 players who are allowed to leave the Emirates Stadium over the coming months.

Kieran Tierney has already been linked with the likes of Manchester City and Newcastle United having fallen behind Oleksandr Zinchenko in the pecking order at left-back.

Despite his form on loan at Reims, Folarin Balogun, who has switched allegiances to the United States, will also generate a lucrative fee with little prospect of regular action in North London.

Emile Smith Rowe is another notable name on Arsenal's alleged list of available players, the playmaker being restricted to 13 substitute outings this campaign due to injury.

Although Rob Holding has been praised in the past for being a valuable squad member, the defender will seemingly be given permission to depart if a suitable offer arrives.

The same is said for striker Eddie Nketiah who, despite being an able deputy to Gabriel Jesus, has not scored in any competition since January 22.

Nuno Tavares, Cedric Soares and Albert Sambi Lokonga - on loan at Marseille, Fulham and Crystal Palace respectively - could also be sold with little prospect of them ever becoming first-team regulars under Arteta.

Reiss Nelson will depart on a free if he does not pen fresh terms, and there is more certainty over the future of Ainsley Maitland-Niles who will become a free agent after spending the season at Southampton.
