Andy Murray 'not banking' on Vasek Pospisil tiredness

British number one Andy Murray insists that he will not be relying on the tiredness of Vasek Pospisil when the two players meet in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon.

British number one Andy Murray has insisted that he will not be banking on quarter-final opponent Vasek Pospisil being tired when they face each other at Wimbledon on Wednesday.

The Canadian had to endure a mammoth clash with Viktor Troicki on Monday, but Murray has stated that despite any fatigue in his competitor he will be doing more than just relying on the state of Pospisil's fitness.

"I don't know if that will affect him when we play on Wednesday but, selfishly, I hope so. He's played a lot of tennis here with three five-setters," Murray wrote in his column for BBC Sport.

"The plus is that on grass the matches aren't as long - a five-setter in New York takes a bit more of a toll on your body than here - but Vasek has spent quite a lot of time on the court so far and that can be mentally draining.

"He may also be a little bit fatigued, but then again he's played so much tennis that he's going to be comfortable in the conditions and in a good rhythm. If he is tired I'll obviously try to capitalise on that, but I won't bank on it."

Murray is currently ranked as the world's number three.
