Gloucester's Sila Puafisi and Tavis Knoyle to face disciplinary hearing

Gloucester duo Sila Puafisi and Tavis Knoyle will face a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday regarding their red cards in Saturday's ill-tempered clash with rivals Bath.

Gloucester Rugby duo Sila Puafisi and Tavis Knoyle have been summoned to appear before a disciplinary hearing in London on Wednesday regarding their red cards during Saturday's Aviva Premiership clash with Bath.

Puafisi was dismissed for a high tackle on Nick Abendanon early in the second half before Knoyle was also given his marching orders for throwing punches at Leroy Houston.

Gloucester finished the game with just 11 men on the field as Bath's narrow 18-17 victory was marred by ill-discipline as five players were sin-binned in addition to the two red cards.

Bath's Carl Fearns, Matt Garvey and Dave Attwood all spent time in the bin, while Mike Tindall and Huia Edmonds ended the game on the sideline having been shown yellow cards.

Abendanon and Paul James have also been issued retrospective yellow cards in the form of post-match level one citings.

Referee Tim Wigglesworth was also seemingly targeted by a section of the crowd as an empty drinks bottle was thrown towards him after he had awarded Bath a 79th-minute penalty try that ultimately gave them the win over their West country rivals.
