League Two roundup: Wycombe Wanderers go top

Sports Mole rounds up the night's League Two action as Wycombe Wanderers go top of the table.

Wycombe Wanderers went to the top of the League Two table courtesy of a 1-0 win over Cambridge United this evening.

The visitors had goalkeeper Chris Dunn sent off seven minutes into the second period after he conceded a penalty, but the resulting spot kick was missed by Gozie Ugwu.

However, the home side finally made their numerical advantage count thanks to Michael Harriman's winner on 70 minutes.

Plymouth Argyle moved up to second with a 2-1 win over Barnet as goals from Graham Carey and Jake Jervis cancelled out Aaron McLean's opener.

Portsmouth are now third after they were beaten 2-1 at Fratton Park by Exeter City.

David Wheeler and Aron Davies gave the visitors the points, despite a late consolation from Gary Roberts.

Newport County remain bottom and they were beaten 3-0 by Crawley Town, with goals from Matt Harold and a double from Gwion Edwards giving the visitors the points.

Dagenham & Redbridge played out a 1-1 draw with Notts County with respective goals from Jodi Jones and Adam Campbell.

Hartlepool United were beaten 3-0 by Bristol Rovers on a miserable night for the home side at Victoria Park.

Matt Taylor opened the scoring for the visitors just after the half-hour mark before second-half strikes from Billy Bodin and Jermaine Easter wrapped up the points.

Luton Town beat Morecambe 3-1 as Luke Wilson, Cameron McGeehan and Jonathan Smith scored to render Tom Barkhuizen's effort meaningless.

Carlisle United responded well to their League Cup defeat at Liverpool last week with a 2-1 win away to Leyton Orient.

Mathieu Baudry cancelled out Derek Asamoah's opener before Anthony Sweeney gave the visitors the win.

Mansfield Town beat Stevenage 2-0 thanks to strikes from Ryan Tafazolli and Jack Thomas three minutes after half time.

Accrington Stanley recorded a 2-1 triumph over Yeovil Town as Josh Windass and Matt Crooks scored either side of a Josh Sheehan effort.

Oxford United moved up to sixth in the division with a 2-1 win over York City, while AFC Wimbledon drew 1-1 with Northampton Town.
