Wolves should have taken the lead in the opening minutes when Rajiv van La Parra broke down the flank to cross for James Henry at the back-post, but he could only direct a header into the side-netting.

The home side failed to create much in the opening 20 minutes and Dave Edwards was first to show his frustration with a wild effort from distance that flew over the Charlton goal.

In a half of very few opportunities, Wolves man Kortney Hause missed a gilt-edged chance when he headed wide of the target from Henry's cross, leaving the teams to go into the break level.

Following a tame first half, Charlton began to put together a string of chances after the interval, the first of which came through Jordan Cousins, who headed straight at Karl Ikeme.

Callum Harriott was next to threaten as he produced a telling pass to pick out Igor Vetokele in the area, but he was prevented from opening the scoring by another good stop from the Wolves keeper.

Wanderers might have grabbed themselves a winner with three minutes to play when Edwards rose highest inside the box, although his header was sent straight into a defender without troubling the keeper.
