Preview: West Ham United vs. Newcastle United

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Premier League meeting between West Ham United and Newcastle United.

Newcastle United will be hoping to end their recent poor run of form when they travel to West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.

Alan Pardew's side have won just one of their last six games and were beaten 6-0 at home by Liverpool last weekend.

The result leaves Newcastle 17th in the table, five points clear of Wigan Athletic, who occupy the final relegation place but also have a game in hand.

West Ham sit 10th and will be hoping for the three points which will make them mathematically safe from relegation. They were beaten 2-1 at Manchester City last Saturday.

West Ham will be encouraged by the fact that Newcastle have won just once on the road in the league this season.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce, who has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the match, could name the same XI which started at the Etihad Stadium last weekend.

Newcastle captain Fabriccio Coloccini will return after recovering from a back injury, while Sylvain Marveaux may make the bench following his groin injury.
