Matt Besler passed fit for USA

USA defender Matt Besler is passed fit for his team's World Cup encounter with Germany on Thursday following a hamstring injury.

USA defender Matt Besler has been passed fit for his team's encounter with Germany at the World Cup on Thursday after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The 27-year-old was forced off with the problem at half time during the USA's 2-2 draw with Portugal on Monday evening.

Despite fears over his fitness, coach Jurgen Klinsmann has confirmed that he is available to face the Germans in Recife.

Besler and his American teammates need a draw tomorrow night to clinch a place in the second round of the tournament.
