League Two roundup: Leyton Orient win again to stay top of table

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday afternoon's action in League Two as Leyton Orient maintain their 100% record at the top of the table.

Leyton Orient maintained their winning start to the League season, remaining top of League Two with five successes from five matches, by beating Bristol Rovers at Brisbane Road.

The O's took the lead against Rovers with a Lloyd James penalty, given when Paul McCallum was shoved to the ground inside the area.

Jay Simpson's fourth goal of the campaign gave Ian Hendon's outfit a 2-0 lead just before half time, proving enough for the home side to emerge victorious.

Graham Carey's 43rd-minute strike, his fourth of the season, saw Plymouth Argyle beat Newport County 1-0 as they remain in 2nd place.

A poor Luton clearance from an Enda Stevens cross allowed Gareth Evans to put Portsmouth ahead.

Luton were awarded a penalty soon afterwards, converted by Craig Mackail-Smith, following a foul on Josh McQuoid.

A late Matt Tubbs effort saw Portsmouth leave Kenilworth Road with all three points.

Carlisle United came from behind twice to record an away victory against Hartlepool United.

Scott Harrison put Hartlepool in front on the 6th minute.

Jabo Ibehre's eighth goal in seven games levelled the scoreline at 1-1 in the second half, before Billy Paynter dispatched a penalty to make it 2-1 to Pool.

Tom Miller again leveled the scoreline, before Ibehre's second five minutes from time gave Carlisle all three points.

Oxford United went 1-0 up against Yeovil Town through Danny Hylton who fired past Artur Krysiak.

Irish midfielder Callum O'Dowda doubled the home side's lead with a 75th-minute effort, enough to give Michael Appleton's charges a home win.

Reece Thompson gave York City the lead after eight minutes against Mansfield, getting a touch on Luke Summerfield's deep free kick.

Matt Green equalised five minutes later, tapping home from a corner, before putting the Stags ahead after 30 minutes as they ran out 2-1 winners at Bootham Crescent.

George Francomb was on hand to put AFC Wimbledon ahead against Exeter, though Ryan Harley levelled the scores minutes later.

Ade Azeez struck with ten minutes remaining in the tie, converting Lyle Taylor's through ball, to chalk up a victory for Neal Ardley's team.

Morecambe took the lead against Notts County through Alan Goodall, but were pegged back soon before half time by the Magpies' Genaro Snijders.

Substitute Paul Mullin gave Morecambe the lead for a second time, striking past County keeper Roy Carroll into the top corner.

Another substitute in the form of Alex Kenyon made it 3-1 in the 88th minute, before Jamie Devitt sealed an emphatic 4-1 victory minutes later.

Marc Richards' third strike of the season saw Northampton Town take a 1-0 lead into half time against Accrington Stanley.

A Josh Windass penalty early in the second half brought the scores level, seeing the two sides share a point each at the final whistle.

Dagenham & Redbridge, without a league win this season, took an early advantage against Stevenage from an Ashley Hemmings goal.

Stevenage drew level through Tom Hitchcock, finishing from Brett Williams' knockdown after Tom Conlon's crossfield pass.

Elsewhere, there were goalless draws between both Crawley Town and Wycombe Wanderers and Barnet and Cambridge United.

Results in full (half-time scores in brackets): Accrington 1-1 Northampton (0-1), AFC Wimbledon 2-1 Exeter (1-1), Barnet 0-0 Cambridge (0-0), Crawley 0-0 Wycombe (0-0), Dagenham & Redbridge 1-1 Stevenage (1-0), Hartlepool 2-3 Carlisle (1-0), Leyton Orient 2-0 Bristol Rovers (2-0), Luton 1-2 Portsmouth (1-1), Morecambe 4-1 Notts County (1-1), Oxford 2-0 Yeovil (1-0), Plymouth 1-0 Newport (1-0), York 1-2 Mansfield (1-2).
