Preview: New England Revolution vs. Inter Miami - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Saturday's Major League Soccer clash between New England Revolution and Inter Miami, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

In search of a fifth straight victory across all competitions, Inter Miami visit the Gillette Stadium on Sunday to lock horns with New England Revolution.

Meanwhile, the home side will be looking to arrest a slump in form which has seen them lose six of their last seven outings.

Match preview

Inter Miami showed great resolve to claim a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Atlanta United at the DRV PNK Stadium on Sunday.

Phil Neville's men went behind to Ronaldo Cisneros's 13th-minute strike but drew level through Leonardo Campana just shy of the half-hour mark, before completing the comeback thanks to Bryce Duke's second-half winner.

The Herons have moved up to eighth place in the Eastern Conference, level on points with New York City FC, who currently occupy the last playoff spot.

They will be confident of continuing their surge up the MLS standings against an opposing outfit who have lost the last two meetings between the teams, including a 3-2 thriller on April 9.

Having recently won back-to-back games on the road without conceding, Sunday's visitors will fancy themselves to come out on top away from home once again.

New England Revolution came away empty-handed from a thrilling 3-2 contest against DC United at Audi Field on Sunday.

Bruce Arena's men broke the deadlock early on through Brandon Bye, but two goals from Taxiarchis Fountas either side of a Michael Estrada strike turned the game on its head before Adam Buksa netted a late consolation.

Off the back of a poor start to the campaign, the Revs are bottom but one in the Eastern Conference as it stands, having picked up seven points from eight matches so far.

Six of the aforementioned seven points have come on home turf, and Saturday's hosts now set out to pick up another positive result in front of their fans this weekend.

Team News

Ryan Spaulding sustained a muscle injury earlier in the month, and the defender is not expected to play any part this weekend.

Lucas Maciel is also a huge doubt for New England Revolution, but Jon Bell could make his return to action in this one.

Inter Miami's Ian Fray and Joevin Jones are yet to recover from knee injuries as they await their first outing of the campaign.

Thirty-two-year-old Brek Shea remains sidelined with a shoulder problem which has seen him miss each of the last four games.

Having scored an impressive five goals in his last three outings, Leonardo Campana is certainly one to keep an eye on.

New England Revolution possible starting lineup:
Knighton; Jones, Farrell, Gonzalez, Bye; Boateng, Polster, Lletget; Gil, Buksa, Rennicks

Inter Miami possible starting lineup:
Marsman; McVey, Mabika, Lowe, Yedlin; Mota; Lassiter, Adams, Taylor, Robinson; Campana
