Ed Woodward 'prepared to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer'

Manchester United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward would be prepared to sack head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to a report.

Manchester United's executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is reportedly prepared to sack head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer if the team's poor form continues.

The Red Devils have lost two of their first three games of the 2020-21 Premier League campaign, including a 6-1 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

According to The Mirror, Woodward would 'have no hesitation' in sacking the club's former striker if he is unable to oversee a change of fortunes over the next few weeks.

The report, meanwhile, claims that Mauricio Pochettino is still being monitored by the 20-time English champions, and the Argentine would be prepared to 'parachute in' if given the call to replace Solskjaer.

United will be looking to return to winning ways in England's top flight when they travel to Newcastle United on October 17, before opening their Champions League campaign away to Paris Saint-Germain three days later.

A difficult end to the month will also see the club face Chelsea and RB Leipzig in the league and Champions League respectively, while November opens with a home game against a revitalised Arsenal.
