Jurgen Klopp: 'New Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker is the full package'

Jurgen Klopp deems new Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker "the full package" but admits that the 25-year-old will need time to adapt to the Premier League.

Jurgen Klopp has described new Liverpool signing Alisson Becker as "the full package" but admits that the 25-year-old will need time to adapt to the Premier League.

The Brazil goalkeeper completed his move to Anfield from Roma on Thursday night, putting pen to paper on a "long-term deal" following the £65m transfer.

Klopp is unconcerned about the learning curve that Alisson has ahead of him, however, insisting that the new arrival has his best years ahead of him and can go on to be a great servant for Liverpool.

"The full package is just good," Klopp told the official club website.

"How we all do, he needs to adapt to the English Premier League, that's how it is. The league is different, the refs are different, a goalkeeper's life is different in the Premier League.

"But that's not important now because again, we got him here because of his existing strengths, which is the highest level in all goalkeeping departments.

"But of course he still has to adapt and age-wise he can improve, his best years are coming in the goalkeeper life, so it's all good."

Alisson is Klopp's fourth summer recruit, after Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri.
