Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is on Leeds United's radar as a potential replacement for Marcelo Bielsa, according to a report.

Leeds United reportedly view Rangers boss Steven Gerrard 'as a prime contender' to replace Marcelo Bielsa should the Argentine decide to leave his role in the near future.

Bielsa has only signed a 12-month extension at Elland Road, meaning that he could technically walk away from the Whites next summer depending on how their 2020-21 Premier League season develops.

According to Football Insider, Leeds are identifying replacements for the 65-year-old and view Gerrard as a leading candidate to take on the role.

The former Liverpool captain has been in charge of Rangers since June 2018, winning 86 of his 135 matches at the helm, and the Englishman has overseen an excellent start to the 2020-21 campaign for the Gers.

Rangers are currently nine points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, while they are on course to reach the knockout stage of the Europa League for the second year in succession.

The 40-year-old saw his team put eight goals past Hamilton Academical in their last game before the international break.
