National League roundup: Bromley thrash Barrow to move up to fourth

Sports Mole rounds up all of Saturday's National League action, as Bromley thrash Barrow to move up to fourth and Forest Green Rovers remain at the top of the table.

Kidderminster Harriers were unable to pick up their first win of the season after a 2-1 away defeat to Macclesfield Town in the lunchtime kickoff.

Tony Diagne and Danny Rowe gave the home side a 2-0 lead in the first half, and while Dave Hockaday's side were able to pull a goal back through Jordan Murphy, Kidderminster fell to their ninth defeat in 16 games.

In the games that kicked off on Saturday afternoon, Forest Green Rovers continued at the top of the table with a 3-0 home win over Guiseley. Elliott Frear finished with a half-volley in the first half, before Jon Parkin and Anthony O'Connor sealed the win early in the second half.

Cheltenham Town remain second after a 1-1 draw away to Gateshead, as Danny Wright scored for the visitors to cancel out Jordan Cranston's first-half opener for the Tynesiders.

Dover Athletic are third following a 2-1 win against Wrexham, with Ricky Miller and Toby Ajala counteracting a Connor Jennings penalty for the Welsh visitors.

Bromley moved up to fourth in the table after a 5-0 thrashing of Barrow following first-half goals from Jack Holland and Anthony Cook, and second-half finishes from Reece Prestedge, league top scorer Moses Ademola, and Louis Dennis.

Tranmere Rovers are down two places to fifth due to a 2-1 home defeat to Eastleigh, with Joe Partington putting the visitors ahead early in the second half. Lois Maynard then saw red, and James Constable made use of the man advantage by scoring his side's second before being sent off himself. Tranmere were able to get back into the game with a Steve Jennings goal, but it was not enough to secure a point.

Elsewhere, Halifax Town suffered a 3-0 defeat to Woking after a Dan Holman brace and additional John Goddard finish.

Aldershot Town won 2-0 at home against Altrincham thanks to finishes from Jack Saville and Rhys Browne either side of half time.

Boreham Wood also picked up a 2-0 home win against Welling United, with Jamie Lucas and Joe Devera scoring before Harry Osborne rounded off a frustrating day for the visitors with a red card.

Lincoln City secured a win in a five-goal thriller away at Chester FC as Matthew Rhead, Lee Beevers and Alan Power were able to cancel out goals from Jordan Chapell and Ross Hannah.

At Haig Avenue, Southport lost 1-0 to Torquay United after an Alex Fisher finish in the opening minute, while Braintree Town and Grimsby Town battled out a 0-0 draw at Cressing Road.
