Fleetwood Town loan Adam Chicksen from Brighton & Hove Albion

Fleetwood secure left-back cover for Stephen Crainey and Danny Andrew by signing Adam Chicksen on a month-long loan from Brighton.

Fleetwood Town have brought in left-back Adam Chicksen on a one-month loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.

The 23-year-old, who spent time at League One rivals Gillingham earlier this season, joins Town as cover for the suspended Stephen Crainey and injured Danny Andrew.

Cod Army boss Graham Alexander is pleased that the club have managed to get a deal over the line and feels that Chicksen will fit in nicely to their playoff-pushing squad.

"He is a young player but has played a number of games in League One at MK Dons," Alexander told the club's official website. "Adam is now at Brighton. Stephen Crainey has a two-game suspension so we wanted to bring a left back in. Adam is a good footballer, he has great energy and I think he will do well for us.

"We did a lot of work during the week to try and find a left back with the profile of what we wanted to do. We felt Adam would fit into how we play.

"We had to make a lot of phone calls to try and get him in. We are glad everything has been sorted. He trained with the lads today and we are looking forward to working with him."

Chicksen has made only 13 appearances for the Seagulls since signing from MK Dons in 2013.
