Chelsea will be looking to post a new club record and avoiding setting an unwanted streak when they face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday night.

Chelsea will be hoping to set a new club record when they square off against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Monday night.

The Blues are going through a mixed period of form, the downside being that they have suffered back-to-back defeats in the top flight.

On a positive note, the 3-1 victory over Aston Villa in their FA Cup fourth-round replay last Wednesday has lifted the mood at Stamford Bridge.

Ahead of a trip to Manchester City in the Premier League and showdown with Liverpool in the EFL Cup final, Chelsea go up against Palace in a London derby at Selhurst Park.

Palace, themselves, are going through a mixed run, pressure growing on Roy Hodgson despite the Eagles being able to equal a club-record three successive wins in the Premier League at their home ground.

In terms of facing Chelsea, though, Palace have endured a dismal streak, losing the last 12 Premier League encounters against their upcoming opponents.

Should Mauricio Pochettino's side prevail in South London on Monday, it would make it 13 successive league triumphs against the same opponent for the first time in their history.

Pochettino also possesses an outstanding record in games against Palace, winning 12 of his previous 14 encounters in the Premier League, but not all of the statistics are in Chelsea's favour heading into this contest.

A 34-year streak will come to an end if Chelsea concede two goals or more, with Chelsea having the potential to do that for the seventh away league game in succession.

Meanwhile, Pochettino is at risk of losing three consecutive league games as a manager for the first time since 2013, when he was in charge of Southampton.

Jordan Ayew is also attempting to avoid extend a remarkable Premier League record, as the Palace winger has lost all 15 such fixtures for three different teams when facing Chelsea.
