Arsenal are reportedly looking to offload midfielder Thomas Partey at the conclusion of the campaign, with the 30-year-old struggling with a number of injuries this term.

Arsenal are reportedly prepared to offload midfielder Thomas Partey at the conclusion of the 2023-24 season.

The 30-year-old made the switch to the Gunners from La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in October 2020 for £45m, playing 104 times in England since.

Partey's game time in the current campaign has been severely restricted by a number of injury issues, with the enforcer last featuring for Mikel Arteta's men back in October.

Struggling with a long-term thigh injury, the Ghana international has played just four Premier League matches this term, competing in only 251 minutes of top-flight football.

According to The Mirror, Arsenal are willing to let Partey leave North London at the end of the current term, despite his contract not expiring in the summer.

The report claims that the Gunners are growing frustrated with the midfielder's injury woes which have seen him miss the majority of the campaign to date.

It is understood that Arteta was open to letting Partey leave in the summer transfer window prior to the season, with the Spaniard believing that he had enough options in the engine room.

The North Londoners underwent a summer midfield rebuild, bringing in Declan Rice and Kai Havertz from West Ham United and Chelsea respectively.

With no suitable offers on the table for the services of Partey, Arsenal were forced to keep the 30-year-old at the club and - for large parts of the current term - in the medical room.

It is believed that Juventus were interested in recruiting the former Atletico man in the New Year, however the Old Lady eventually decided against a January swoop due to the player's injury record.

The Serie A giants could return to the table in the summer, though, by which time Partey could be a Premier League champion under the stewardship of Arteta.

Following a vital 3-1 success over league leaders Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, the Gunners have moved to within two points of Jurgen Klopp's Reds.

It was expected that Partey would return to the first-term fold this month after an extended period on the sidelines, however Arteta provided a worrying update on the Ghanaian ahead of the Liverpool clash.

"With Thomas (Partey) unfortunately we had a little setback a few days ago," said Arsenal boss Arteta ahead of the weekend's visit of Liverpool.

"I'm not a doctor, but he felt something in a very similar area and he wasn't able to train the last few days."
