Arsenal reportedly consider selling Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as a means to alleviate financial pressure following the coronavirus outbreak.

Arsenal are reportedly considering the sale of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in order to alleviate financial problems arising from the coronavirus outbreak.

The Gabon international has been repeatedly linked with an exit from the Emirates this season, with his contract in North London set to expire next summer with no renewal in sight.

Aubameyang has registered 61 goals in 97 games for Arsenal since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2018, although the Gunners would supposedly be willing to part ways with their captain if necessary.

According to the Daily Express, Arsenal would rather sell Aubameyang this summer than see him walk away for free when his contract runs out next year.

The report also claims that Mikel Arteta's side are likely to be severely financially hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, and could lose up to £50m in revenue should matches take place behind closed doors for the remainder of the year.

Aubameyang has registered 17 Premier League goals this season, two behind Leicester City's Jamie Vardy in the race for the golden boot.
