Serena, Venus Williams win Wimbledon doubles title

Serena and Venus Williams win their first ladies' doubles title at a Grand Slam event since 2012 by seeing off Timea Babos and Yaroslava Shvedova 6-3 6-4 at Wimbledon.

Serena Williams has added doubles success to her earlier singles title after claiming victory over Timea Babos and Yaroslava Shvedova with sister Venus.

The world number one defeated Angelique Kerber in straight sets on Saturday afternoon to cement her name as one of the sport's all-time greats.

Just a few hours later Serena turned her attention to the ladies' doubles final, with a 6-3 6-4 triumph earning the Williams sisters their first Grand Slam title together since 2012 and their sixth overall.

Only Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver can boast more titles than the pair.
