Kenny Jackett talks up "exciting" Wolverhampton Wanderers future

Kenny Jackett plans on giving more youngsters a chance to shine in Wolverhampton Wanderers' first team over the coming years.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett has talked up the potential of his side's next batch of youngsters.

A string of academy products have been given a first-team chance in recent times, including Danny Batth, Jack Price and Dominic Iorfa.

Many more players are expected to make the step up in the coming years, with the likes of Niall Ennis and Connor Ronan among those in contention, and Jackett is more than happy with the current conveyor belt of talent at his disposal.

"There is an exciting crop of youngsters coming through," he is quoted as saying by the Express & Star. "There's some very good players in the academy and we want to keep nurturing them and giving them opportunities, making sure they can see a pathway through to the first team.

"It's a route the supporters are very keen on, as are we. You have to work at it, though. It's not just about putting an academy building there, it's about producing players and making sure they come through, we have to work at it continuously."

Fellow homegrown products Carl Ikeme, Bright Enobakhare and Ethan Ebanks-Landell have also featured this season.
