Francesco Guidolin admits shock at Udinese's comeback against Roma

Francesco Guidolin praises Udinese for their 3-2 comeback victory against Roma and admits that he did not think that they could win at the Stadio Olimpico.

Udinese coach Francesco Guidolin has admitted that he did not believe that his side could stage a comeback against Roma on Sunday.

The Bianconeri went down 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome after just 24 minutes, but a Maurizio Domizzi strike and a brace from Antonio Di Natale saw them win the Serie A clash 3-2.

"It is right to be satisfied with the comeback and the result," said Guidolin. "We were on the edge of the precipice after 20 minutes, while before that I had believed we could do well here even without several key players.

"I know the qualities of my men and that we could be competitive, but to be frank, after 20 minutes I thought this was going to be a bad night.

"We had so many youngsters on the field, but they did very well to turn this game around and play an extraordinary second half."

Udinese are currently eighth in the Serie A table with 12 points from nine matches.
