James Ward-Prowse says he will not seek an exit from Southampton if the club is relegated from the Premier League this season.

James Ward-Prowse has denied claims that he would look to leave Southampton if the club gets relegated from the Premier League this season.

Monday's 4-3 defeat at Nottingham Forest has left the Saints eight points adrift of safety with just three games remaining, making survival very difficult from here.

Ward-Prowse has been a key player for the club again though, despite their difficulties, contributing to 13 goals from midfield this season.

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of their defeat at Forest, Ward-Prowse reiterated his commitment to the club, saying: "I want to give my all for this football club and I always have done.

"Every time I put the shirt on I always give 100% and that's no different whether we lose our next game or we win it. For me, it's just being focused on where I am now and giving my all for this club, which I always have done since I was eight years old."

When asked whether the club would allow him to leave, Ward-Prowse replied: "Nothing in that, no."

Ward-Prowse has been a regular in the Southampton side ever since they were promoted to the Premier League in 2012, playing over 400 games for the club.
