League Two round-up

Southend United replace Crawley Town as leaders of League Two.

Southend United moved to the top of League Two with a 2-0 victory at Macclesfield earlier today.

Goals either side of half time from Ryan Hall and Kane Ferdinand were enough for the Shrimpers to take maximum points at Moss Rose.

Southend's elevation to the summit was made possible by Crawley Town's failure to defeat Accrington Stanley.

Peter Murphy put visiting Stanley in front four minutes before the break, but Hope Akpan's first goal for the club rescued a point for Crawley.

Dagenham & Redbridge's poor form continued with a 2-0 loss at Bristol Rovers, with Joe Anyinsah and Liam Harrold scoring the goals. As a result, John Still's Daggers now sit third from bottom in the table.

Bottom-of-the-table Plymouth Argyle slipped to a late defeat away at Cheltenham Town.

An own goal from Steve Elliott put Argyle in front, only for Darryl Duffy to strike twice in the final seven minutes for Cheltenham.

Saturday's League Two results: Aldershot 3-1 Crewe; Barnet 3-6 Burton A; Bristol R 2-0 Dag & Red; Cheltenham 2-1 Plymouth; Crawley 1-1 Accrington; Macclesfield 0-2 Southend; Morecambe 2-1 Gillingham; Northampton 1-1 Rotherham; Oxford 2-1 Port Vale; Shrewsbury 0-0 AFC Wimbledon; Swindon 0-0 Bradford; Torquay 2-0 Hereford.
