Half-Time Report: Steve Morison gives Millwall early lead

A second-minute goal by Steve Morison gives Millwall a 1-0 half-time lead over Wigan Athletic.

A second-minute goal by Steve Morison has given Millwall a 1-0 half-time lead over Uwe Rosler's Wigan Athletic at The Den.

The home side took the lead in the second minute when Morison reacted quickest to lash the ball home following a goalmouth scramble.

David Forde had to be alert to keep his side's lead intact, as he turned away shots from James McClean and Emerson Boyce within seconds of each another.

The home side had the better chances of the first half, though, and only a good intervention by Scott Carson prevented Morison from finishing off a move involving Scott Malone and Martyn Woolford.

Wigan almost went two goals behind when they only half-cleared a corner to Woolford, who controlled the ball on the edge of the area and drove past two defenders before seeing his effort come flying back off the inside of the post.
