Miguel Herrera stands strong in wake of Mexico's early Copa America exit

Miguel Herrera insists that he "does not feel under any pressure" on the back of Mexico's disappointing display at the Copa America in Chile.

Mexico coach Miguel Herrera has vowed not to let his side's disappointing Copa America exit have a lasting affect on their upcoming Gold Cup campaign.

El Tri became the first side to crash out of the competition, having finished bottom of Group A with just two points from their three games in Chile.

Mexico were without star players such as Javier Hernandez and Carlos Vela, who were left out in preparation for next month's Gold Cup, which Herrera believes offers encouragement.

"I don't feel under any pressure," the Daily Mail quotes his as saying. "We can't do anything about the tournament we've lost, we've got to have a rethink.

"Now I have to disconnect myself from [Chile] and concentrate on the [Gold Cup] team. You have to admit you didn't reach your objective, not be afraid of the word failure."

CONCACAF's showpiece tournament gets underway on July 7.
