Real Madrid reportedly switch their focus towards signing Neymar after failing in their pursuit of Paul Pogba this summer.

Real Madrid have reportedly turned their attention towards signing Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain after their bid to sign Paul Pogba failed.

Zinedine Zidane pinpointed Pogba, who expressed his desire to leave Old Trafford in June, as his number one target for the summer, but Manchester United refused to budge on their £150m valuation of the player.

Neymar, on the other hand, has been actively pressing for a departure from PSG following a difficult 2018-19 campaign under Thomas Tuchel.

According to Marca, club president Florentino Perez has switched focus towards landing Neymar after it became clear over the last few weeks that United would never countenance Pogba's departure this summer.

As a condition for Zidane's return earlier this year, Perez had agreed to refrain from pursuing Neymar, with the Frenchman desperate to land Pogba as the club's marquee signing.

Recent reports have suggested that the La Liga side, upon recalibrating their transfer strategy, had approached PSG about a potential swap deal involving Neymar and Gareth Bale, who is surplus to requirements under Zidane.
