Experienced centre-back Sergio Ramos is reportedly no closer to agreeing a new contract with Real Madrid.

Sergio Ramos is reportedly no closer to agreeing a new contract with Real Madrid, as the Spain international is not prepared to accept anything less than a two-year extension.

The centre-back's current deal at the Bernabeu is due to expire at the end of June, meaning that, as it stands, he will be available on a free transfer this summer.

There was thought to have been progress in talks between the two parties, but according to Marca, the 35-year-old is no closer to extending his stay at the Bernabeu.

The report claims that Los Blancos are still only offering a one-year extension, but Ramos is demanding a deal until the summer of 2023.

Ramos is believed to be prepared to accept the wages currently on the table but is refusing to budge on the length of the agreement, which could see him walk away at the end of June.

Manchester United are believed to be keeping a close eye on the developments surrounding the former Sevilla youngster, who could make his return from a calf problem against Chelsea in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
