Manchester United target David Brooks "desperate" for Premier League return

David Brooks has been linked with a move to Manchester United, but the Wales international hopes that his return to the Premier League comes with Bournemouth.

Rumoured Manchester United target David Brooks has said that he is "desperate" to return to the Premier League following last season's relegation with Bournemouth.

The Wales international was touted as an attacking option for United in the summer transfer window after it became clear that they would not get their hands on Jadon Sancho.

However, Brooks remained in place at the Vitality Stadium and is now back in the starting lineup after recovering from another injury setback.

A move to Old Trafford would seemingly appeal to Brooks, but the 23-year-old hopes that his return to the top flight is with Bournemouth.

"Being in the Premier League...I had a full season and then got injured. From my point of view, it was cut a bit short for myself," he told the Bournemouth Daily Echo.

"I was disappointed I couldn't really factor in last year, so I am desperate to get back in the Premier League and hopefully it's with Bournemouth.

"Everyone wants to be playing at the big, nice stadiums and on the big occasions hopefully, when the crowds are back in. We are all working towards that and, with the squad we've got, we've got a really good chance.

"I think if you asked any of the squad where we will be at the end of the year, I genuinely believe we will be going up and we will be in and around those one or two automatic spaces."

Brooks has featured five times for Bournemouth in all competitions this season and has yet to score or assist.
