Manchester United are reportedly keeping close tabs on Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani, who will be out of contract at the end of the season.

Manchester United are reportedly closely monitoring the situation of Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani ahead of a possible summer move.

The 33-year-old looks increasingly likely to leave the Parc des Princes at the end of the current campaign, when his contract with the French champions expires.

Clubs from across Europe and South America have been credited with an interest in the veteran, and the Manchester Evening News reports that United are also keeping tabs on him.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has once again made the signing of a new striker his top priority for the upcoming transfer window, having been limited to a loan deal for Odion Ighalo in January.

A permanent agreement for Ighalo remains an option, while United have also been linked with the likes of Moussa Dembele and Lautaro Martinez, and Cavani is viewed as another option who would not cost a transfer fee.

The Uruguay international has seen game time limited at PSG this season but is the club's all-time leading goalscorer with 200 in 300 games.

However, he is understood to want to play Champions League football next season if he opts to remain in Europe - a competition Manchester United are still in a battle to qualify for.
