Inter Milan are reportedly plotting a fresh £60m bid for Romelu Lukaku after Manchester United turned down the Serie A side's initial offer for the Belgian striker.

Inter Milan will reportedly make a fresh bid worth £60m plus bonuses for Romelu Lukaku after Manchester United rejected their initial offer for the player.

The Serie A side had commenced negotiations by proposing a two-year loan deal with an obligation to buy entailing installments of £9m, £27m and £27m to be paid in consecutive years.

United rejected this offer, and have told Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio that they would only part ways with Lukaku - who signed for £79m in 2017 - if they were to make a profit on the striker.

According to Sky Sports News, Inter are expected to make a new offer of £60m plus bonuses in an attempt to get closer to United's valuation.

Newly appointed Inter manager Antonio Conte, who attempted to sign Lukaku as Chelsea manager, has placed strong emphasis on bringing the 26-year-old to the San Siro.

However, with the English transfer deadline three weeks away, Inter officials are mindful of the fact that United would want a replacement for Lukaku lined up before they countenanced his departure from the club.
