Agent: 'Inter Milan want Manchester United's Matteo Darmian'

Fausto Pari, who works for the agency that represents Matteo Darmian, claims that Inter Milan want to sign the Manchester United full-back.

Inter Milan are interested in signing Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian, according to agent Fausto Pari, who works with representatives of the Italian international.

Darmian joined Man United from Torino in the summer of 2015 and made 39 appearances during his first season in England.

The right-back has struggled for minutes under Jose Mourinho this term, however, with Antonio Valencia and Timothy Fosu-Mensah both ahead of him in the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Pari has claimed that Man United blocked summer interest in Darmian, but is hopeful that an agreement can be reached if the defender remains out of favour with the English giants.

"We have to understand Manchester United's will," Pari told Radio Crc. "Some Italian clubs have tried to take him, but Manchester United shut the door straight away. He's playing little or not at all, which is a shame because of the national team.

"If the situation doesn't change we'll have to think of something in January, he risks losing the national team too. Interest? There was Inter, as came out in the newspapers. We're at the beginning of October so we'll have to wait and see how situations develop."

Earlier this week, Inter director Piero Ausilio hinted that the Italian giants would move for Darmian once the January transfer window opens for business.
